iKhaya le Themba

Only 4% of children who start school in South Africa finish with a diploma.
The reasons are as diverse as they are individual. In so-called informal townships, people live in extremely cramped conditions, with rudimentary infrastructure, high crime rates, and very little перспективе for the future. Definitely not a place for children. That’s why it’s all the more important to create safe havens here and to make education possible where the school system fails.

iKhaya le Themba is a non-profit organization in the Hout Bay township “Imizamo Yethu” that provides after-school care, warm meals, individual tutoring, and the opportunity to be a carefree child – at least for a few hours a day. This safe space is open to children who are orphaned or half-orphaned, or whose families are facing especially difficult circumstances. Often, the children receive their only полноценная meal of the day here.

With our fundraising film, we support this 100% donation-funded NPO in expanding its facilities, employing staff from the community, and welcoming more children. The equivalent of €80 per month is needed to support one child.

You can learn more about the production in this blog post.
