“Agroforst Project
For our latest project, we spent two days capturing the daily rhythm of Agrarbiotope Taubertal—a farm bridging the gap between ecological agriculture and active conservation. Our goal was to document their entire cycle: unposed, raw, and close to the people making it happen.
Our shoot began out in the fields, where farming by permaculture principles still means real manual labor under the summer sun. But the farm’s philosophy doesn’t stop at the field edge. Part of our journey took us deep into the adjacent forest, where a unique species conservation project is underway. In collaboration with bee researcher Torben Schiffer, the farm installs "Schiffer-Trees"—specialized tree-cavity simulators designed to give wild bees and forest honeybees their natural habitats back. Capturing these moments—the dim forest light, the massive canopy, and the hands-on conservation work—offered a striking visual contrast to the heat of the open fields.
Finally, we followed the harvest to its destination. In the farm shop and at the packing station for their regional veggie boxes, the tangible results of the season come together. We photographed the team sorting and packing the fresh produce, tracing a visual line from the soil straight to the customer's plate.
The result is an honest, documentary-style photo series for the project's website. A reportage that avoids polished marketing and instead shows the actual, dusty, and rewarding reality of a farm that redefines how we produce food and protect nature.
