How do you tell the story of thousands of lives within just a few minutes? How do you bring an emotional experience closer to people when they are merely uninvolved observers? How do you raise awareness for something most would rather ignore? These are challenges the sea rescue NGO “Sea-Eye” knows all too well when it comes to generating donations and drawing attention to its work.

With “Where Are You, Brother”, we brought the emotional dimension of their mission into the viewer’s world. The film’s powerful moments portray the work of the crew and the difficult situation of the rescued people — without exploiting their suffering. The emotional anchor is provided by the voiceover, which builds a bridge to a more familiar, family-centered perspective for the audience.

“Where Are You, Brother” was created during one of five missions we accompanied as Sea-Eye’s official media partner — media work that moves between public visibility and human depth.
